Purpose Through the Seasons
At Hope Springs Farm, we move with the rhythm of the land. Our programs provide a sanctuary where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can engage in meaningful work that yields tangible results, from a blossoming garden to a clean barn. Every day is an opportunity for growth, social connection, and the quiet satisfaction of a job well done.
Cultivating Identity as "Growers"
Our Program Pillars
Therapeutic Horticulture
Our Growers participate in the full lifecycle of farming. With over 40 raised beds and a professional four-season greenhouse, we garden year-round. Growers learn to seed, transplant, weed, and harvest a variety of vegetables, herbs, and flowers.
Animal Husbandry
Working with animals provides unique emotional and sensory benefits. Growers assist in the care of our alpacas, chickens, and sheep-learning the responsibilities of feeding, grooming, and maintaining a healthy barn environment.
Life Skills & Creative Arts
Beyond the fields, we focus on practical life skills. From baking and cooking in our kitchen to creating artisanal crafts and yarn from our alpacas, our Growers develop hand-eye coordination and vocational readiness in a social setting.
Vocational Training & OVR Partnerships
Hope Springs Farm is proud to partner with the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR). We offer Community-Based Work Assessments (CBWA) and work readiness training to help Growers explore their interests and prepare for future employment opportunities in the community.
