Year-Round Horticulture & Greenhouse Program
At Hope Springs Farm, our garden is more than a source of food; it is a classroom, a sanctuary, and a place of profound accomplishment. Through our therapeutic horticulture program, Growers engage with the earth to produce vibrant vegetables, fragrant herbs, and beautiful flowers, learning that with patience and care, something wonderful can grow.
Growth in Every Season
Our professional, four-season greenhouse allows our mission to thrive even in the heart of a Pennsylvania winter. This controlled environment provides a stable, sensory-rich space where Growers can focus on high-detail tasks like seeding, transplanting, and propagation. It is here that we "Sow the Seeds of Hope" long before the spring thaw.
40+ Raised Beds
of Opportunity
When the weather warms, our activities expand to our 40+ raised garden beds. These beds are designed for accessibility, allowing Growers of all physical abilities to participate fully in weeding, watering, and harvesting. This hands-on connection to the outdoor farm environment fosters physical activity and a deep appreciation for the lifecycle of our food.
A Bountiful Harvest
Heirloom Vegetables
Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and leafy greens.
Fragrant Herbs
Basil, mint, rosemary, and lavender are used in our life skills program.
Seasonal Blooms
Sunflowers and zinnias that brighten our farm and the community.
Small Fruits
Berries and orchard fruits harvested by our Growers.
Building Skills for the Future
Horticulture at Hope Springs Farm isn't just about plants; it's about people. Growers develop vocational readiness through following multi-step directions, practicing fine motor skills, and working as a team to manage the farm's output. These "seed-to-table" lessons provide a sense of pride as Growers see their hard work nourish their community.
