Vocational Training & OVR Partnerships
Hope Springs Farm is committed to more than just daily activity; we are dedicated to preparing our Growers for the next step in their journey. Through our professional partnership with the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), we bridge the gap between farm life and community employment, helping individuals discover their strengths and develop the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace.
Our OVR Services
Bridging Potential and Opportunity
Service 1
Community-Based
Work Assessments (CBWA)
We provide comprehensive assessments in a real-world farm environment. These evaluations allow OVR counselors and families to understand a Grower’s work habits, stamina, social interactions, and ability to follow complex directions in a professional context.
Service 2
Work Readiness Training
Our work readiness program focuses on the "soft skills" that make a great employee. Growers practice punctuality, task completion, teamwork, and communication—all within the supportive and familiar setting of our Hershey farm.
Transferable Farm-to-Community Skills
The tasks our Growers perform on the farm are carefully selected to build vocational competency. Whether it's the organization required for seed inventory, the physical stamina needed for horticulture, or the social cooperation involved in farm maintenance, these skills are directly transferable to roles in retail, landscaping, hospitality, and beyond.

Collaborating for Success
We work closely with OVR counselors, local school districts, and families to create individualized paths for each participant. Our goal is to ensure that the transition from a training environment to the workforce is as smooth and successful as possible.
