Sharing Hope: Growers as Givers
At Hope Springs Farm, our mission extends far beyond our own fences. Through our "Sharing Hope" program, we flip the script on disability services. Instead of only receiving support, our Growers become the supporters. They take an active role in community service, proving that everyone—regardless of ability—has the power to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
How It Works
The Journey of a Supply Run
Step 1
Community Support
Donors fund specific "supply runs." These funds are used to purchase essential items—like toiletries, non-perishable food, or comfort items—requested by our charity partners.
Step 2
Vocational Practice
Growers assist in the entire process. They help research what is needed, practice budgeting and shopping skills at local stores, and carefully organize the items for delivery.
Step 3
The Delivery
The most rewarding part: the delivery. Growers travel to our partner organizations to personally hand off the supplies, fostering social connections and a deep sense of civic pride.
Our Community Partners
Supporting Local Heroes
We are proud to support local charities that serve families and individuals in need throughout the Hershey and Central PA area. Our Growers have successfully delivered supplies to:
Ronald McDonald House Charities: Providing comfort to families with hospitalized children.
Local Food Banks: Helping to combat food insecurity in our neighborhood.
Community Shelters: Delivering hygiene kits and seasonal necessities.
Empowerment Through Service
Sharing Hope isn't just about charity; it's about identity. For many of our Growers, this is the first time they are viewed as volunteers and contributors rather than recipients of care. This program builds social confidence, teaches practical life skills like navigation and money management, and reminds our community that compassion knows no boundaries.
Fund a Supply Run
You can empower a Grower to give back. Your donation specifically designated for "Sharing Hope" goes directly toward the purchase of supplies for our next delivery.
